They say that the original is always the best, but they doesn’t mean variation isn’t awesome too. Ben Talmi has just released a cover of “Girls On The Beach” by the Beach Boys, and he takes it in a completely different direction. Talmi is a brand new artist. His other project, Art Decade, did orchestration for Manchester Orchestra, Wild Nothings, and more cool bands. On top of that, he’s one of the chief engineers at Virtue and Vice studios in BK.
But as Ben Talmi, this is his first offering to the world. He certainly makes his song his own – doing what no one would ever think to do with a Beach Boys song. In fact, this might be the opposite of what a person would think of when it comes to the Beach Boys. Talmi took “Girls On The Beach,” drenched it in synth, and his cover was made. The track is Imogen Heap meets the Beach Boys, and it’s glorious. Just glorious.
