While Pittsburgh’s Birthrates prep for the release of their 7 song work, Act Right, on September 17th, we’re here to give you a little peak into what’s to come. “Corner Booth” is their latest single, and we’ve got the premiere right here.
A single guitar, a gorgeous melody flowing from its strings. Slow, practiced, setting the tone for a song that will eventually become much more winding in its progression. The vocals set in, deep and slightly twangy. It becomes clear quite quickly that “Corner Booth” is an intricate narrative about a very specific encounter. The tempo picks up, the sound continuing in the same raw, acoustic vain. “Corner Booth” is honest, captivating, and eye-opening in only the way a detailed anecdote can be.
