Curren$y & Fiend

Curren$y and Fiend are in a crackhouse studio deep in the wards of New Orleans, banging out some of the most gangster tunes the city has ever heard. It's pretty much the anti-thesis to the giant gold tank these dudes were signed to in the 90s.

“Executive Brass” and “Flying Iron” follow a theme of sampling loungey blues tunes, but this does mean we should conclude there's a concept. I wish I could tell you these songs are for a mixtape or collaborative record, but the Internet is providing zero answers. We simply have two spine-tingling songs from former No Limit soldiers – yes, that is the same Fiend from Master P's label. He was a favorite on the label growing up, so this is one dude that's stoked to hear the gruff flows of Fiend again – Has not lost a step either.

Curren$y's career has been a rough journey. He signed to No Limit as a teenager, moved across town to Lil' Wayne's Young Money Entertainment, but with Wayne in prison, his sophomore record is due out on recently re-launched Roc-A-Fella Records. Although, none of the news on these songs concludes that these will be on Pilot Talk.

Pilot Talk is due out June 22 on Roc-A-Fella with Distribution through Def Jam, but don't hold your breath on that date sticking.
