As the audio player chock full of past Dum Dum Girls tracks streaming below indicates, this new song from the increasingly less scuzzy California outfit is kind of the equivalent to seeing a high school tom girl show up at the five-year reunion dressed up like a Sex in the City guest star. Unfortunately, there are already plenty of Jenny Lewis's out there, and we are currently witnessing another party entering the fold. Still, one might argue that there were also plenty of Dum Dum Girls. So who are you to stop the train from veering towards the mainstream: it's no one but Dee Dee Penny's agitas and effort going full-throttle towards that pie in the sky pop song that has her pleading for some lucky lover's morning peepers*:
