Ethan Daniel Davidson, "I Might've Been Wrong"

Post Author: Meredith Schneider

A beautiful, crawling soundscape is what you will find in avant-garde Americana artist Ethan Daniel Davidson‘s new track “I Might’ve Been Wrong”. The Detroit, Michigan-based musician consistently and successfully rounds out his sound with a talented full band, including Jordan Schug, Gretchen Gonzales, Warren Defever, Kara Meister, Julie Benjamin, and Steve Nister, and we’re expecting a great deal from the lot with the release of his upcoming album in mid-June. Until then, we’ve got the exclusive premiere of “I Might’ve Been Wrong” to tantalize your eardrums.
As previously referenced, this slow tempo song – though incredibly heavy in its lyrical content – exists at a lighter frequency with Ethan’s particularly perfected high pitch vocal range. While keeping the instrumentals relatively simple, he hones in on his voice, which exudes a sense of sorrow, guilt, and regret, though we hear a sense of longing and hope hidden in there as well. Admits Ethan, “We all have to pay—and I’m afraid of what I might owe.” That sentiment is largely palpable even without the lyrics, making this song practically perfect in every way.
Just be warned: This highly emotional track might be NSFW. Not in the “traditional” sense of the acronym, if only because you need to devote all of your attention to it.
