Freddie Gibbs & Madlib drop a surprise EP

Freddie Gibbs might be signed to Jeezy's Corporate Thugz imprint, but it has not slowed or limited Gibbs' collaborative nature that was instilled from his prolific free agency days. Gangsta Gibbs surprised everyone today by dropping the Thuggin / Deep 12″, a collaboration with Madlib . While Madlib might be known mostly for his mad scientist mixing from the deepest crates in the business, “Thuggin” proves the Beat Konducta is still an ice-cold soul assassin. Madlib's icey production lifts Gibbs' no frills narrative off the page. Ripe with black humor fed through a stream of cold-blooded tales, “Thuggin” reaffirms that the most dangerous MC in this decade is coming out of Gary.

“Thuggin” is off Freddie Gibbs and Madlib's untitled six-song EP due in the first quarter of 2012 on Madlib's Madlib Invazion label. Cop the Thuggin EP at Stones Throw.
