Fuck yeah, Ghoul Poon (part 2)

Ghoul Poon, Bastard Sorcerer

We loved all over Ghoul Poon back in June, and our devotion remains unwavering to this very day.

Back then we sent you to check out a Upstate New York-centric compilation called Ghoul Poon Presents: Do the Fright Thing – Volume Two but now point Poon man Shane Sanchez has a whole full length of gothy beat-smithery with dead-brow vocal delivery for you to download over at his bandcamp page.

It's aptly called Bastard Sorcerer and you can imagine angry 20-something with a wizard hat beefing on an absent dad in a dark and madening dungeon where there's space to get super weird in the dirty corners of the tracks. “VCR Forest” is the lead-off track on the album, was in existence back in June during our first Poon round, and remains the man's standout spook-out moment.

The work peeks at why Sanchez is headed at 80mph towards some pretty high caliber local gigs, including Dan Deacon and Lightning Bolt on October 14 up the New York state road. Details on that here.

We said it once, and we will say it again. Fuck yeah, Ghoul Poon.
