High Pop, “Love Letter”

It must be difficult to name a band. Some might say the task is *almost* as stressful as naming a child. Like, how does a group pick a title that summarizes their sound, look, attitude; aka their.entire.aura? Many solve this problem by saying “Band names are arbitrary”. But to their credit, Connecticut’s High Pop chose a name that is perfectly descriptive. Singer Sean Posila’s voice is certainly High, in fact, there are several instances on their album Hip Hip Hooray where it is borderline prepubescent. As for Pop, the band oozes catchiness and fast-paced energy. If you don’t believe me, check out “Love Letter”, the first single from High Pop’s recently-released Holy Smokes! cassette. While the song’s chorus (“I hate yooooouuu”) may not sound like a traditional statement of adoration, High Pop will definitely win over your hearts,
