Jettison Tape, Second Sleep

We've all been in the local record store or penny thrift shop and found nuggets of gold: tapes that others have negligently disposed of, forgotten, or tossed aside, home recordings and replays from the radio, filled with static and fuzz. On Jettison Tape's debut, Second Sleep, snippets of that inspiration can be found, particularly in the combined sampling of a variety of lush sounds. The instrumental album sounds like it could feature vocals, but by finding the medium too fussy, Jettison Tape ended up working in even bigger, and occasionally softer, payoffs that work as powerfully as an Eluvium track blended with Youth Lagoon.
