Magik Markers, a once popular and frequented name here, fell of the radar after four years of no recordings and few shows. The punk trio is back and their return is forceful. The band has released its first taste from their upcoming album, Surrender to Fantasy: a two and a half minute single titled, “Bonfire.” The song starts with thirty seconds of a monotonous chant, pounding toms, and a screeching feedback, offering quite the welcome-back in an uncomfortable punk-rock fashion. Then comes the real deal. Elisa Ambrogio’s exasperated vocal style with thunderous drum fills sound just as powerful and raw as ever in this fall time anthem that’ll get you up and moving in no time.
