We love us some Marissa Paternoster and she knows it. A recent correspondence with the Screaming Females front woman led to discussions as to how to continue publishing our friendship, in which Paternoster suggested the following:
I propose that IMPOSE magazine change the title of their publication to, “Marissa Paternoster Weekly” and print (only positive) editorial pieces strictly concerning all topics pertinent to Marissa and Marissa-related materials. I don't know, mull it over at the morning meeting. I'm sure it'll go over well.
After much deliberation at the “morning meeting,” the proposition was taken to a vote and as it stands, IMPOSE will not become the Marissa Paternoster Weekly or PTW. As a compromise IMPOSE gladly accepted exclusive publishing rights to Paternoster's Doodledrag collective videos.
Doodledrag is the ongoing drawing gathering of Paternoster and her doodlemate LNY. The conceit is based around loose hangouts with friends in New Jersey, New York and Philly that start with beverages and discussion and end with drawings. For one of the challenges, 12 of the Doodledraggers were assigned a Screaming Females song to illustrate and create an accompanying video. The result is a collection of visual interpretations from Power Move and Castle Talk.
Screaming Females will hit the road (once again) starting September 8 in Brussels. As part of the fall US tour, Don Giovanni Records is going to be reissuing vinyl editions of SF's first two albums, Baby Teeth (2006) and What If Someone Is Watching Their T.V.? (2007). These albums were previously self-released and the vinyl formats of both have been out-of-print for quite some time. Full tour dates below.
