Calgary punks Miesha and the Spanks have given us the exclusive first look on their new video for Motorin’
Delivering ferocious, riff-fuelled rock akin to The Runaways and Honeyblood, Calgary-based guitar & drum duo Miesha Louie and drummer Sean Hamilton are heading over to the UK for performances at The Great Escape and Focus Wales.
Working closely with producer and friend Danny Farrant from The Buzzcocks, the band have already shared stages with the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Bison BC, Death From Above 1979, The Pack A.D. and Hot Hot Heat.
The new video features mini versions of band going about their day and ending up playing a raucous punk show. Miesha tells us “we’ve been scheming this video idea for quite a while. Kids, playing us, out and about our home base in Calgary. Mini-spanks on the loose who spend their day putting up last minute posters, handing out last minute handbills, cruising around to their favourite haunts and having a time, getting amped up and ready to go. Then they’re at the show kicking butt and taking names. Just like grown-up Spanks.”
The video was directed by Hans Grossman who’s work includes Fargo, Heartland and The Revenant as well as videos for Calgary bands 36?, Northern Coast, and Copperhead – which brought them to SXSW and won some awards.
