John Jones, aka Nerftoss, stays ambient-conscious. As Nerftoss he’s embedded himself in the conquest of transcendence and that pursuit has guided him through worlds of electronic music, ultimately arriving at house. So goes Crushed, his debut on NNA Tapes.
For his contribution to the Friday Night series, Jones offers a simple description, “Future in the Past, Edits, World Rhythms, Cosmic Kitsch, Staying Positive.” A proper Crushed companion piece, the “O So Crushed Mix” embodies the breadth of the record through likeminded visionaries like Cakedog (an Ahnnu side project), PHORK, and Yoshi Suzuki.
