Sarah Register and Andrya Ambro both have day jobs in sound engineering, so it's no surprise that Talk Normal's upcoming full-length seems to ennunciate exactly the kind of unfurled beat-driven noise anthems the duo expound on live. Those familiar with Talk Normal's earlier releases like Secret Cog will be excited not only by the size and sophistication of the recordings on Sugarland, but also the new directions towards both explosions of unbridled feedback and lo-end rumble and newly exposed song sensibilities.
“In a Strangeland” goes farther towards the latter, and in so doing uncover a little of the inevitable connections the duo share with Magik Markers.
