Do we have a readership into four-part harmonies, a la Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young? Do the readers of Impose think Jesus is just alright and the same goes for The Doobie Brothers? Are you friggin' ready for good ole' Dollyworld Americana, chock full of twangin' slide guitar and dusty blue jeans? Well, let's find out.
Nashville's Promised Land Sound cover every local endorsement required just shy of Dolly Parton squeezing into a women's small band t-shirt. Members span bands like PUJOL, JEFF the Brotherhood, Those Darlins, and Denny And The Jets, while Third Man Records put out their first 7″. Kind and always strange words from Jack White exist, but the fancy tassles aren't what make up Promised Land Sound. On “Fadin' Fast” the band are as Dixie-land as it gets, most likely hopped up on black water and crawdads. William Tyler of Hiss Golden Messenger guests on the vocals, filling out the harmonies that could make a cowboy well-up for a passing second.
Promised Land Sound's self-titled debut is out September 24 on Paradise of Bachelors.
