If you're suffering from something like the Monday Morning Blues or you're holding down the sweaty fort under the melodrama of the heatwave, then the only antidote is a little splash of fresh pop from Pure Bathing Culture. In their second single from the upcoming Moon Tides record, Pure Bathing Culture has managed to display remarkable shine that unfolds like a dip into a lake. This track is less Fleetwood Mac than the first delivery, but its slow strums move along unhurried in order to break through to levitating melodies and an omnipresent glitter that continually dominates PBC's music. The sound is dreampop with a hi-fi tinge, which creates a feeling similar to that of eating a gourmet lollipop: sweet but with a deeper flurry of thought.
Pure Bathing Culture's Moon Tides releases on Partisan Records on August 20 in the US and August 19 through Memphis Industries in the UK. The group is on tour at the dates below.
