Here's a “long sold out” tape from Red Electric Rainbow, solo project of Daniel Smith. UPDATE: Total flub. Smith is associated with Acid Marhsmallow in that they collaborated on the Neon Marshmallow Fest. Apologies all around. Perhaps you've caught RER's collaborative project with Acid Marshmallow daddy Matt Kimmel, called Sunglasses (not that Sunglasses.) You may even remember my knee-jerk comparisons of the duo's high times drone music to planets passing in the night. A real man sticks to his metaphors. (A real man may not actually use metaphors.)
(Clearly I am not a real man, as I no longer can sick to these metaphors.)
Moving on. If you've checked out Sunglasses, you may recognize ENJOY the long tone astral synth strokes on this c10 called Love Is A Haunting Refrain, while the tremulous arpeggios that rise and fall like arches of light keep the bouyant A-side in its own dreamy postal code.
Red Electric Rainbow, “Love Is A Haunting Refrain” A-side
B-side embarks towards a lonelier side of the galaxy. Fewer stars, though as we go deeper into this space, a gas cloud three milky ways wide grows larger and larger until we're engulfed in thousands of particles and washes of atmosphere.
