Earlier this month Saint Pepsi inaugurated his signing to Carpark with the Fiona Coyne/Fall Harder 7″, which we noted was out to hold onto summer despite Ryan DeRobertis’ complicated relationship with nostalgia. Well, just in time to join in the nostalgia before it’s too late, Ricky Eat Acid remixed the b-side, sliding the disco origins into its bygone era and inviting the stems into the glitchy-now.
On the Ricky Eat Acid remix, “Fall Harder” becomes a chipmunked journey through arpeggiated synth flourishes and an emotional build that gathers so much momentum, it begins to feel like Ricky will never let go. Just when you’re patience is tested most and you wonder where the hell Ricky is headed, the grip is loosened and the production slips into a glitchy backbeat. Well worth seeing it through and putting your trust in Ricky.
