Gather round kiddos and I'll tell you the story of how our Friday Night series began.
It was a warm Cali afternoon on May 1 of last year. Your hero, Blake Gillespie, had just heard Serengeti's new project with rapper Hi-Fidel under the group moniker Friday Night. Your hero was struck by inspiration's lightening bolt and drafted a Byte post with the facts and two downloadable mp3s. While listening to the album later that night, it occurred to him that Friday Night was more than a rad group, more than a day of the week, it was a state of mind. From that day onward, he proclaimed Friday night as the most vital 8 hours of the week.
Just under a year passed and Friday Night is far from dead as both a series and a rap group. Friday Night Remixed is 24 tracks from 19 different producers, spanning two continents, telling one story and giving it to you for zero dollars. Remixes are brought to you by DJ Crucial, Yobkiss, Los Serpientes Minerales, Andres Renteria,
Machinegewehr, TeLuv, Omid, ShamGrammar, Euphony, Deejay Pickel,
Beaches or Mountains, Breakfast (Grilla + Ish), Greetings From Tuskan, Jeremy Cox, Stunt Rock, Tony Trimm, Polyphonic the Verbose and Killscreen.
