Bay Area multi-instrumentalist Ty Segall has put his touch on a split 7-inch with Chad & the Meatbodies in a charity effort for the Ariel Panero Memorial Fund at VH1 in Less Artists More Condos Volume #7. The track, entitled “Music for a Film 1”, is comparable to something you'd find in the score to a 70s casino film. It's an instrumental with grungy, icy, expressive guitar licks and a thumping bass beat, and splashy, black-and-white drums to keep it pounding and grooving. It's definitely revivalist and it's working for us. The split is available for download at a name-your-own-price platform at the Famous Class Bandcamp, as well as a vinyl order if you don't mind the wait.
