Sunset Lines, "The Miles"

Post Author: Mike Mehalick

Slippery Slope, the forthcoming debut EP from San Francisco-based pop-rockers Sunset Lines, is all about new beginnings and looking towards the future. The themes present on the short player mirror the lives of Liz Brooks (lead vox, synth), Paul McCorkle (guitar, synth) and Greg Wieman (drums) who formed the group following the demise of a previous project.
With Brian Howell (bass) in the fold, Sunset Lines juxtaposes vibrant, rippling rock/pop with examinations of the sometimes harsh realities in what needs to be severed or left behind in seeking new path-lines to happiness. Today, Impose Magazine is premiering the latest such offering from the EP in the form of single “The Miles.”
The band shares:
“This is a song about leaving home and the pangs of guilt/sadness that hang over you before the excitement of being in a new life sets in. We wanted the contrast of the bright guitar hooks/shimmering synth to offset the more somber tone of the lyrics.”

Catch Sunset Lines at their EP release show on Saturday, July 29th at Brick and Mortar Music Hall in San Francisco, CA (tickets).
