In the Russian city of Togliatti, nestled on the banks of the river Volga, lives Vxlam, a stoner beatmaker with a taste for contemporary art (according to his Tumblr anyway). Drawing from classic soul and r&b recordings, Vxlam fuses old-school samples together with a modern, THC-soaked downtempo twist. His newest release, the aptly titled Random Smoked Beats, is a collection of ten experimental hip-hop tracks, all cleverly labeled as though they were each a different strain.
