After releasing lead single “Kerosene Girl” off their forthcoming LP Easy Pain, Louisville trio Young Widows place another chip on the table. This time it's the album's digital-only bonus track, “The Money”. Over the band's past two album releases, the band has wavered in the harsh and heavy, but this go-round promises to show a new aggressive bent. In this latest track, after a slow build of frontman Evan Patterson's noise-rock chant, they unleash the first of a few recurring drone-metal guitar solos, giving us time to contemplate the downbeat recession-era themes. Your heart will pound long after it's over.
Easy Pain is out May 13 via Temporary Residence LTD. Stream “The Money” here.
