If you spent all of 2013 wondering when—when—would Ben Folds and The Flaming Lips get together to perform in the nebulous but sacred act known as a “superjam,” then your dreams are finally coming to light in the year of the horse. In a similar fashion to last year's Bonnaroo lineup announcement, (this time sans Weird Al), the festival in Tennessee will broadcast the big reveal alongside musicians, comedians, and other shenanigans of an undetermined nature, and it's headed straight to your Xbox* and computer screens live on February 19. Hannibal Buress and SNL's Taran Killam will be masters of the ceremony, and other special guests are expected to roll through—but only if they are deemed worthy of the ritualistic heavy jamming.
Watch a teaser video of the announcement here, and head to Bonaroo's site for more festival details and a list of viewing parties, where festival hopefuls can commune among their people and break bread over the superjamming together.
*Full disclosure: I have never used an Xbox, so I have no idea what the logistics of this are.
