Crystal Stilts announce new album, drop first single

Crystal Stilts

Remember the crystal explosion of the early aughts? It followed the bear and wolf craze, but before triangles and beaches ran this town? If you do, then you'll recall a few crystal bands who stood out from the rest: Antlers, Castles and the Stilts. Yet, unlike the others, the Crystal Stilts seemed elusive, never releasing enough music or touring far enough to satiate our desire to hear their laid back psych pop beyond the ocassional Brooklyn show or a party during one of those contrived music conferences. The future of the Crystal Stilts seemed as bleak as their music.

UNTIL NOW!

That's right, the Crystal Stilts have announced they will be releasing Nature Noir on September 17. Their first LP since 2011's In Love With Oblivion, and first full length for Sacred Bones, the Stilts are promising a “retro fitted and forward committed” third album. “Unmasked, refined and lush, Crystal Stilts hint at freeform experimentation whilst holding on to their classic heritage.” They're also promising a nearly two-month-long tour supporting Deerhunter in select locations.

You can listen to the first single from Nature Noir, “Star Crawl”, below and catch them at one of these following cities. The current touring iteration of the band consists of Brad Hargett (vocals) and JB Townsend (guitar) with Andy Adler (bass), Keegan Cooke (drums) and Kyle Forester (keys).
