Drainolith and Regression tour together

Noise veterans Alexander Moskos and Nate Young are hitting the road together for a 3-week tour as their respective solo projects, Drainolith and Regression. Both are best known for their roles in lupine noise rock bands, Moskos plays guitar in AIDS Wolf and Young is the founding member of Wolf Eyes.

Drainolith’s “You Paid for It” from his 7-inch released by Psychic Handshake, layers synthesizers, psyched-out guitar fuzz, and echo-heavy chanted vocals. The slow-tempo synth blips, between guitar squeals and unintelligible croons, makes for a track reminiscent of sound-system-era dub. Download the song below. While “La Salle Walks Out” shares the same ingredients, the composition and added visuals by Angie Meng creates a different effect. Moskos’ blearily spoken words take the forefront over tortured electronics and a stuttering backbeat. The repeated narrative lines linger in the panning shots of winter-drowned forest, which poignantly visualizes Moskos’ ethos of “slowing the self. Here's a video of the track. Tour dates underneath all the media.
