Brooklyn youngsters Nine 11 Thesaurus formed out of Representing NYC and, like the Fly Girlz before them, will soon have their own album out thanks to the organization, which helps connect local kids interested in hip hop to local artists who can help them bring projects to fruition.
The group's first album, like their name, has a heart and soul born from the ashes of the World Trade Center. Losing family members can leave one reeling with questions, but when the entire country is involved, feelings get that much heavier: with such a monumental disaster comes monumental feelings of fear, anger, and hope.
The album, Ground Zero Generals, was produced by Gang Gang Dance's Tim Dewitt and Skeletons' Matt Mehlan and drops April 26.
