For the past year, Glasgow trio PAWS have been touring extensively to promote their 2012 debut Cokefloat! With a new LP on the horizon, one third of PAWS, Phillip Taylor, has released a solo acoustic cover of Elliott Smith's always dirgey “Needle In The Hay.” Taylor foregoes PAWS' usual sheen of fuzz, instead rendering a fairly similar interpretation of Smith's original. Taylor's singing, however, leans more towards his usual pop-punk squall as opposed to Smith's more subdued vocals.
PAWS are heading to New York this winter to record their sophomore album. It will be out in 2014 on FatCat Records. Until then, you can catch PAWS on tour at the dates below the embed.
