The Attic Singles Club

New Zealand-based music collective The Attic recently released the first installment of their new monthly showcase the Singles Club, which will culminate in a massive tape release at the end of 2014. Every first Tuesday of the month, The Attic will debut one original track and one cover from a different band. The first band featured is the progressive rock outfit Space Bats, Attack! From their debut album—due out mid 2014—is the track “Dueling Banjos,” an intricately guitar-based spaced-out jam. In the vain of “Dueling Banjos”, Space Bats splatter their frantic doom-rock sound all over a track from one of our 2013 favorites, La Luz. The band takes the surf-rockers' track “Sure As Spring” and turns it into a blood-pumping psychedelic rendition. You can stream both of the tracks below, and keep an eye on The Attic every month as they unveil each new addition to the Singles Club.
