This is a pretty brilliant matchup. Weekend, San Francisco's finest noise squall rock trio, who can call both Mission of Burma and Wire (whom they got to support for a tour last year) as legimiate daddies, will be touring with Brooklyn's finest noise squall rock duo of a whole 'nother color. Both bands have been busy recording new material this summer, with Weekend slightly farther out of the gate for an EP called Red, (watch for it on Slumberland in the fall. No specifics on the newest Talk Normal in the works, as they were literally in the recording studio as recently as last week.
The tour, which tears through most of September, is sort of a bifurcated dual coast thing, with a nebulous period halfway through the month in which the bands leave the club they played in Orlando, FL with a little, “See ya in Phoenix in ten days, don't do anything I wouldn't do.”
