A little over one month ago, Tim Presley hinted on Facebook that a new White Fence album was slated for this summer, and mentioned pal and somtime-collaborator Ty Segall would be in on the fun. Since then it's been radio silence on the project until this morning, when the press release hit our inbox that the new LP would be freed to the world on July 22 by Drag City—marking Presley's first solo effort for the label (Presley and Segall's Hair album was released by Drag City).
Entitled To The Recently Found Innocent, this latest White Fence record was produced in Ty Segall's garage because, as Presely put it, “I had to make a change, not drastic, but a change nonetheless. My room was tired of me, so we took a break, and I fucked some other room.” Segall is listed as producer and spends a little time behind the drum kit on the forthcoming album, while White Fence's live-drummer Nick Murray fills in the rest.
For those of you on the left coast, you'll have the opportunity to see White Fence live (tour dates below), and probably hear a few of the new tracks. For the rest of us, we'll just have to wait until July.
