The Canadian singer-songwriter delivered a terrific set in Philadelphia in support of new album Wisecrack
Haley Blais came back to the Lounge at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia for the second time in support of her new album, Wisecrack. This time, as a headliner, and backed by a simply phenomenal full band. I’ve noticed that these Canadian solo artists (Haley, Aidan Knight, Andy Shauf) seem to have no trouble assembling a group of very talented musicians to tour with them, and Haley’s band brought the album to life for an enthusiastic Wednesday-night crowd at the home of WXPN. The set was short and sweet, covering the entire new album, a recently-released bonus single, and two past hits including the fan favorite Small Foreign Faction.
