Canadian indie rockers brought the shoegaze & dream pop bliss to Phoenix

For the past decade, Canadian indie rock band Alvvays have been carrying the torch for shoegaze and dream pop in an incredible way. The group has galvanized fans on record and in live performances, balancing staticky atmospherics with a deftly pure melodic touch, and channeling the heavyweights of the past like My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive while dauntlessly peering into the future.

Ever since the release of 2022’s Blue Rev, Alvvays have been tirelessly touring and gifting fans with their breathtaking live soundscapes. Last week, the group rolled through Phoenix, Arizona’s The Van Buren and delivered the sort of wondrously entertaining set that has become their signature. On top of that, we were able to capture them in all their beautifully dreamy, hazy, galvanizing glory on film.
