Minnesota indie-folk band, Humbird, announced they will be releasing a new EP Aug. 25th. The first track begins to play, you hear gentle and soft whispered voices. These voices begin to collide and overlap, the sound of human vocals begins to flow into water, harmonic drones floating overhead. It’s a viscerally visual sound, an echo of the clear, unbroken silences of the Minnesota woods that first inspired Humbird songwriter Siri Undlin. Born and raised in Minneapolis, Undlin began writing music and performing at the age of just 12. She has travelled the world seeking inspiration, and you can see those inspirations in her music. Where Else presents a sound that is magnetized and is as diverse as Bon Iver, Bill Frisell, and Joni Mitchell combined. Check it out!
