That’s why Amazon decided to work with over 25 artists to get a jumpstart on being the soundtrack to this years season of cheer with Christmas Soul, an Amazon original playlist. The playlist is a “purposely eclectic mix,” featuring everything from the Latin Soul rhythms of Jungle Fire to the soaring horn play of Marc Broussard and JC Brooks.
Oh, and Hip-Hop isn’t left out, as Open Mike Eagle’s melodic “Snow Suit,” which captures the joy of anticipating Christmas in the hood, showcases. “Imagination weighs three tons,” he surmises on the trap influenced jingle. Eagle’s track is one of many original creations on the playlist, but if covers are your thing, they have that too. R&B singer MAJOR does his version of “Little Drummer Boy,” and Ruth B is “Rockin Around The Christmas Tree.” Christmas Soul will be available exclusively for streaming on Amazon Music— both Amazon Music Unlimited and Prime Music beginning November 24.
