So I'll admit I have never seen his father with the Africa 70, let alone born at the time, but seeing the energy and multi instrumental talents of Femi was an illuminating experience. Accompanied by an incredible singer/dancer trio, full horn session, conga and standard drum kit setup, electric bass, a couple guitarists, backing keys and Femi's own Hammond XB-2. It was the closest I could get to the Afrobeat legacy that didn't involve the schmaltz of a Broadway musical.
