Portland, Oregon, funk-rock group Otis Heat, on the tail end of their coast-to-coast tour, and the Brooklyn via Tehran post-punkers, the Yellow Dogs – fresh off a national tour with Iranian Street Artists ICY AND SOT – delivered solid sets at Cameo Gallery, Saturday April 13th in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Clearly vetted in playing live, the band’s were not short of theatrics – the Yellow Dogs accompanied by wild dancing, wild hair groupies and Otis Heat’s Sean O’Neill’s groovy bass lines delivered in an Axl Rose-esque fashion – heightening the already high energy within the small, hidden back room venue. After some impromptu lipstick “toying” of Veng RWK with Icy, the night was wrapped up in the infamous Abbey Bar with equally infamous Miss Brown bartending and spinning oldies.
