Big Ups' debut record may still be forthcoming (Dead Labour on Jan 14/Tough Love on Jan 13), but if you're no dumb-dumb, you'll know that the BU live show is the real force to be reckoned with. At their New Year's Eve's Eve show at new Brooklyn venue Baby's All Right, Big Ups took their brand of neurotic post-punk to the glammed-out stage, and thanks to Pretext Social Club, you inside people can get a little taste of that show yourself without leaving your laptop. Keep your eyes on Joe Galarraga's acrobatic stage movements.
Big Ups will be playing their 18 Hours of Static record release show on January 9 at Shea Stadium with local favorites Washer, Flagland, and Manequin Pussy, details for which can be found here.
