Part of the reason Californians love California (and some outsiders have a jealous loathing for the state) is that on any given day, with just a little bit of ambition in your pocket, you can transport yourself to an alternate climate or a picturesque vista. The "I Miss You" video begins with that inkling, literally dashing into the street to find a life beyond tope walls and messy bedsheets.
So yeah, Buddy Banter's "I Miss You" kinda feels like one of those "California. Find Yourself Here" ads without the celebrity appearances, but it's not like Buddy Banter or director Michael Arter were commissioned by the state to deliver an ode. The ode tends to manifest itself because the scenery is there, it only takes an hour train ride, some light climbing, and packing a sweater for unaccounted for breezes. Buddy Banter wrote California into "I Miss You" with jet stream effects much like the ones that decorate the skies as the protagonist looks out of a train window towards the ocean.
"I Miss You" is off Budy Banter's Paradise Thrillz EP, available on Bandcamp.
