Chris Gethard’s My Comedy Album release party at the Knitting Factory featured many special guests accompanying the man of the evening on stage, friends like Eugene Mirman, Shellshag, Michael Che of The Daily Show, Mike Birbiglia, and Hannibal Buress. For this particular performance Gethard is joined by Mal Blum on guitar to perform “Crying at the WaWa”, an acoustic song about having an emotional breakdown in a Philadelphia convenience store. “Crying at the WaWa” is the closer to My Comedy Album and features an impassioned motivational speech from Gethard, which he attempts to replicate in this performance. While you might not feel like a rejuvenated go-getter from his hard talk, we’re guessing the only tears will of the joy variety.
Chris Gethard’s My Comedy Album is out now on Don Giovanni.
