"She dove head first…" are the first lines of "Copper Girl," the new song by Doldrums' off his new Egypt EP. "Copper Girl" certainly feels like immediately immersing oneself in an Alice-like world. Pitch shifted vocals envelop the dreamy atmosphere, while heavy beats consistantly pound to an epic chorus. Noises chirp and gurgle endlessly, but its Doldrums' manipulation of these noises into structure that is utterly compelling. The video certainly doesn't help the original Alice assumption. The visuals are a psychedelic journey of a woman falling and tumbling in sheets, torn and warped and lost amongst colors. LOTS OF COLORS.
