Foals, “Late Night”

It's been a long time since we've seen the Explicit Content advisory that used to grace every good CD, so when the video for the Foals song "Late Night" began there, surprise was impending. In this gorgeously shot video directed by Nabil Elderkin, who has worked on videos for Frank Ocean, Bon Iver, and Kanye West, the band performs in a lonely European pub while above the venue, people in a run-down apartment building experience the varying stages of suffering, life, death, and ecstasy. It is a tragic and touching look at the life cycle, and with the accompaniment of the pained song, the viewer walks away feeling a little different. It's well worth the watch.

The Oxford band just released their third record, Holy Fire, a few weeks ago, and are on tour all over the world this coming spring.
