Knox Hamilton Premieres "Never My Love" Lyric Video, Prep For Upcoming Debut Album

Post Author: Meredith Schneider

As Little Rock’s alternative trio Knox Hamilton preps for their debut album release just around the corner, they’re releasing a new nugget of awesomeness for us to enjoy. We’ve got the official premiere of the lyric video for their stellar single (and beautiful cover song) “Never My Love”. A clever and beautiful geometrical project, the visuals collect and retract like a kaleidoscope. The various shapes form the words in the song as well, establishing an interconnected, quirky, and fun way to share this track.
In honor of their new video release – and in anticipation of the upcoming album – we got to ask them a few questions. Check out our discussion below!

First thing’s first – if you could introduce yourself to our audience in any way possible, how would you do so?
WE ARE KNOX HAMILTON. WE ARE A KILLERS COVER BAND FROM LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. ALSO WE’RE THE NEXT BIG THING IN ALTERNATIVE MUSIC.
What’s your very first musical moment?
I, BOOTS, REMEMBER PLAYING THE DRUMS IN CHURCH WHEN I WAS BUT A WEE LAD. LIKE 8 MAYBE.
What got you guys into music? Was there a moment when you just decided this was it?
OUR MOM IS A FANTASTIC SINGER AND SHE LOVES MUSIC. WE GREW UP LISTENING TO EVERYTHING FROM THE BEE GEES AND MICHAEL JACKSON TO FLEETWOOD AND ZZ TOP. WHEN A CHORUS HITS AND YOU GET GOOSEBUMPS, YOU’RE BORN TO MAKE MUSIC.
The way you transformed The Association’s “Never My Love” makes it feel like an absolute dream. What made you choose to nab this song?
THANK YOU! WE’RE SUCKERS FOR A LOVE SONG AND THIS IS THE BEST LOVE SONG EVER WRITTEN. SO, NATURALLY, WE STOLE IT.
How did you choose which way to go with it? Did you have any issues working out how to do it justice, or did you all agree from the get go?
WE KNEW FROM THE START WE WANTED IT FASTER AND A BIT MORE ALTERNATIVE SO WE PUT THE NEW BEAT ON IT AND IT TOOK ON A LIFE OF ITS OWN FROM THERE.
What do you hope this generation takes away from your rendition of the track?
WE WANT THEM TO DISCOVER OLDER MUSIC AND FALL IN LOVE WITH IT JUST LIKE WE DID WHEN WE WERE YOUNGER.
What’s up next?
Our debut album will be released on March 10th and then…you better watch out.
