Latasha Alcindor is back with a new banger, and she’s having none of anyone’s shit. Just take a listen and watch “Revoke Thee” for proof. Over a weighty, Kaui-produced beat that cleverly interprets the sinister energy of “Deep Cover,” LA lets her love interest and a homewrecker have it. One could say she weaved a masterful—if not disheartening—tale of betrayal, but unfortunately, there’s not much “weaving” involved since it’s a true story.
“Everyone’s a sister til’ they attitude switches,” LA laments at the outset of the track. Her raw, Brooklyn-bred delivery works perfect with the tone of the track. When she incredulously asks the “fake deep” subject of her ire if she was “tryna play” her, her agitation is palpable.
The song’s Kidz’R evil-directed video perfectly pairs with the track, all the way to LAs’ clever placement in front of a chicken spot while railing against her former friend–deemed a “chicken.” The song is the first taste of her upcoming project Teen Nite At Empire.
