A lot of people use archival VHS footage in their videos, of varying quality, but I haven't seen someone who looks and sounds so VHS in a while. Sam Flax is a platinum boogie, and the live footage of him incorporated into this glam collage seems totally convincing and time period appropriate. But he's not appearing from the past: his first full length wax disc of low-fi disco psych, Age Waves, is being released by Burger in the US and the Sounds of Sweet Nothing in the UK/Europe on September 17, which is good, because his first tape is sold out. This heavy time traveler should be one to watch for fall.
