Secret Colours, "Places I'm Going"

Post Author: Elizabeth Schneider

Chicago based band Secret Colours has a new album releasing this summer Dream Dream.  The first video from that forthcoming effort is “Places I’m Going”.  Secret Colours, formed by Tommy Evans (vocals/guitar), Mike Novak (guitar), Matt Yeates (drums) and Max Brink (bass), has formed a following since 2010 with the release of their first, self-titled LP.
“Places I’m Going” has a “Tommy James & The Shondells’ Crystal Blue Persuasion” type vibe to its sound and harmonies.  The video itself, shot at both indoor and outdoor locations, follows a “character” to different places as they encounter different people.  The “character” is never identified as male or female and we never see a face, so it’s easy for the viewer to insert themselves into the video.  At the end is a twist that has you asking yourself, “Were the travels real or imagined?”
The album release party for Dream Dream will be July 15 at 9:00 pm at Martyrs’ in Chicago. Keep up with the band here.
