Paul Clipson creates all of his completely analog effects by hand, using projection, double exposure, and other "antiquated" means, instead of just doing it in iMovie. This lends the effect a distinct textural feel, and the films a greater depth. This music video for Young Moon meanders with the song, beginnng with some warm, womb-like petal images, and then moving out into the wider world of nature, examining it from several angles at once. Some of the movements, like the observation of a rotating tree-trunk, are slap-your-head "why didn't I think of that!" moments, but the reason you didn't think of that is because you aren't a genius like Paul Clipson. Grab your camera, go outside, and start practicing.
Young Moon are on Western Vinyl, and you can buy their record Navigated Like the Swan here.
