Ashville's Alligator Indian released its dark pop long player, Spring I'm In, last month on Bleeding Gold Records. Recorded in their mountain retreat The Rainbow Reservation, reclusive vibes play a heavy role in AI's record as operatic synths tilt the sound towards the shadowy side of spring. On “+Vibes” it's almost as though AI tapped into the dystopian links between twee and industrial, while “I Gave Myself A Science Lecture” sounds like Thomas Dolby invented a Death Music Machine and we have no idea how to turn it off.
We're running a week long giveaway opportunity to win Spring I'm In in either cassette or cosmic purple vinyl format. That's right, this could be yours (carpet not inclduded:

The rules are simple and much like all rules we've had in previous contests. Follow @IMPOSE and Bleeding Gold Records (@bleedinggoldrex) on Twitter and tweet the two simultaneously telling us why you deserve to have the cassette or cosmic purple vinyl sent to your doorstep. It is important that you specify your interest in one format or the other, so that we may choose winners for each item. This contest will end on Friday May 25 at 5 p.m. est. Leaving requests in our comments section will not be considered eligible. As always, we're not simpletons: we will spot your fake accounts made solely for this contest. That said, good luck and may the cleverest tweets win.
