If you are familiar with the many bandcamp releases of Philly’s Cyberbully Mom Club, then you know that Shari Heck’s intimate, lo-fi recordings feel heartbreakingly relatable. This feeling is not lost on the group’s occasional full band recordings, like their newest track “FRIENDS”. “FRIENDS” is so rollicking compared to the band’s previous songs, the line about how all Heck worries her “songs all sound the same” seems particularly ironic. Back in September, Heck told Stereogum that she dreams of transitioning into a full band and maybe one day recording an album together. Perhaps “FRIENDS” is a hint at what is to come, but we love it no matter what.
