The indie rock greats celebrated 20 years of Good News For People Who Love Bad News in NYC
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of their seminal album Good News For People Who Love Bad News, Modest Mouse have been out on the road performing the album in full. Last week at Brooklyn Steel, the legendary indie rock greats from Oregon delivered a terrific set that featured them playing all the songs off the record that broke them into the mainstream. Starting out with the one-two punch of “Horn Intro” and “World at Large,” Isaac Brock and company had the crowd in the palm of their hand as they raced through tracks like “Float On,” “Ocean Breathes Salty,” and “The Good Times are Killing Me,” before concluding with a dynamic encore of non-Good News tracks. All in all, a sweetly nostalgic gig that reminded us of Modest Mouse’s timeless genius.
